Monument record 4286 - Brick Field near Folly Cottage

A brick field is depicted on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey 6" and 25" inch to 1 mile maps dating from the 1870s. The site is depicted as diused on the 2nd edition Ordnance Survey 6" inch to 1 mile map (1, 2 & 3). As the neither the brick field or Folly Cottage (to the immediate west) are depicted on the Tithe Map for Buglawton township (c.1841), therefore it is possible that this site was producing bricks for use in the cottage's construction (4).
