Quarry marked on the First Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch to 1 mile Lancashire Maps and the 6 inch edition as a Sandstone Quarry. It is also marked on the Second and Third Editions of the 6 inch to 1 mile Ordnance Survey Maps.
