Full Description
Clotton Cottage, Tarporley Road. Originally farmhouse, later two estate cottages, now house. Mid C17 with later C19 alterations for Tollemache Estate. Timber framing with brick nogging on stone base. Red tile roof. Two gable brick chimneys. One-storey and attic, five-bay front. Small frames of slender scantling with angle braces. Timber-framed gabled dormer with finial. Interior: Heavy chamfered ceiling beams, quarry tile floor in parts. Tiebeam and collar trusses exposed upstairs. Full architectural description (1).
