Full Description
Rose Farm, Barton Road. Cottage, formerly farmhouse, C17 altered. Oak small framing with plaster and brick panels, rebuilt in brick at rear, with steep slate roof. Two storeys and two windows. Former lobby-entrance doorway is blocked. Timber casements are replaced. Braces below eaves. The small two-storey rear wing (formerly dairy) is cased in brick probably late C18. Interior: a lobby-entrance plan with doorway moved to right gable wall. Stair replaced late C20. Two brick back-to-back inglenooks of red sandstone have oak bressumers. A chamfered oak main beam in each front room. Full architectural description (1).
