Summary

Millbrow Quarry marked on the Ordnance Survey 25inch to one mile map, First Edition. The Cheshire version shows the quarry still in use, however by the time that the Lancashire map is surveyed the quarry (which appears to be much larger) is disused.

Full Description

Millbrow Quarry marked on the Ordnance Survey 25inch to one mile map, first edition. The Cheshire version shows the quarry still in use, however by the time that the Lancashire map is surveyed the quarry (which appears to be much larger) is disused. According to (3) this quarry was founded about 1798 by Mr Grindrod and had ceased to be used as a quarry by 1840.
