Description
Oakmere Hall was commissioned by John and Thomas Johnson of Runcorn and built in 1867. The architect was John Douglas and it was his first commission for a large house. Originally a private house, in the 1940s it became a rehabilitation centre and hospital. In the 1990s it was divided into 8 residential apartments. The outbuildings and walled garden were also developed as private residences. The Hall stands in approximately 14 acres of communal grounds comprising woodland, formal gardens and a lake.
