Description
Desk-based assessment produced in support of a proposed residential development (an area of 0.3ha.) on Stretton Road, Stretton, WA4 4NW centred at approximately SJ627830. A scheduled Roman road (CHER 547/1/2), linking Stretton and Appleton, runs east-west across the site, however its exact course is based on a projected alignment. Previous archaeological works have recorded the presence of the Roman road within the vicinity of the potential development site, however the records for the excavations are incomplete. (1)
