Description

A research project carried out for Cheshire County Council and English Heritage to identify those landscapes of historic significance within the County up to 1965. Identified landscapes of the highest quality would be considered by English Heritage for inclusion in the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens for England. The project constituted two phases. Phase One (January - March 1995) of the research project resulted in over four hundred sites being recorded. In Phase Two (1996) more detailed information was collected for sixteen of the sites identified in Phase One as potential candidates for the National Register deserving further investigation.
