Description
A Heritage Statement was produced in 2022 in support of an application for a residential development on land at Moat Farm, off Wrexham Road, near Chester; the site comprises a c.1.8ha parcel of land, centred at NGR SJ 3916 6314, and comprises a vacant farmstead and derelict made ground.
Based on the available archaeological data for the site and the surrounding area the potential for significant remains of Prehistoric, Anglo-Saxon, Medieval and Post Medieval periods is considered to be negligible. Based on the close proximity of identified Roman activity to the south of the Site at the site of the current Cheshire Business Park, coupled with the purported line of the Roman Road to the north, there is low potential for surviving remains from this period.
