Description

Planning consent is being sought on behalf of the United Utilities (UU) from Cheshire West and Chester Council for a new Pumping Station approximately 260m south east of the existing Marton North Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW). The existing WwTW and proposed site of the pumping station are located within the Parish of Whitegate and Marton, approximately 13 miles east of the City of Chester. A heritage statement was produced in 2022 to present the baseline heritage assets within the area of interest, and assess potential impacts from the proposed scheme upon them. The existing Marton North WwTW site is located on land centred on SJ 62045 67887 west of Cassia Green Lane, where it is surrounded by woodland to the west and north, and agricultural fields to the south and east. Bogart Brook flows in an easterly direction to the south of the WwTW. The proposed pumping station location is located on land centred on SJ 62329 67762 approximately 260m south east of the existing WwTW. An ordinary watercourse, Bogart Brook is located to the south and west of the site, agricultural land is located to the north and a hedgerow lined with trees is located to the east, with Dalefords Lane beyond this.
