Description
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken in 2022 during the groundworks associated with the erection of new farmstead buildings with new vehicular access and associated landscaping at The Royals farm, Whitchurch Road, Aston, Cheshire CW5 8DJ (centred on NGR SJ 60596 46344). During the watching brief a single linear ditch containing a 19th century ceramic field drain was encountered during the excavation of foundation trenches for the new farmstead buildings on land west of Whitchurch Road at The Royals farm.
