Description

Summary Winnington Hall lies in the River Weaver valley in an area that has been an industrial site since at least the post medieval period. The Hall, with a wing by Samuel Wyatt, was once set within extensive parkland. It is now almost completely surrounded by disused, derelict and functioning industrial buildings mostly associated with the chemical industry, and housing dating from the early nineteenth century built to accommodate the workforce. The only remaining portions of the Park are Winnington Park Recreation Club, a short length of the driveway and areas of lawn partly bounded by trees to the south and west of the Hall.
