Site Event/Activity record ECH6952 - Archaeological Evaluation Report: Total Park, Pochin Way, Middlewich, Cheshire East

An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in 2021 at Plot 63, Total Park, off Pochin Lane, Middlewich, Cheshire East (centred on NGR SJ 71094 65843). The work occurred in advance of development comprising an industrial unit, totalling 123,000ft2, incorporating warehouse space, offices, car-parking, a self-contained service yard and an associated scheme of soft landscaping. The programme of archaeological work also included an earlier archaeological desk-based assessment (ECH6825/R4423) and Metal Detector survey conducted in July 2020 (Miller and Tamburello 2020). The evaluation comprised the excavation of five trial trenches within the footprint of the proposed development area and targeted around concentrations of finds that were detailed in the Metal Detector survey. The results obtained from the trenches demonstrated that no deposits or features of archaeological interest survive within the site boundary. (1)
