Description
An archaeological desk-based assessment was produced in 2020 for land, of approximately 23.3ha, to the south-east of Roehurst Lane, Winsford. The assessment has established that there are no designated heritage assets within the study site. A number of archaeological heritage assets have been identified in the south-east of the development area including the site of some buildings depicted on the tithe map, also features associated with nineteenth century salt working, including brine cisterns. Additionally, the assessment located earthwork remains of probable medieval origin, comprising ridge and furrow and associated relict field boundaries, together with a post-medieval trackway, within the east and north-east of the study site.
