Description
A heritage assessment was produced in 2020 in advance of refurbishment of The Greyhound public house, High Street, Farndon. The building is Edwardian, in a domestic revival Arts and Crafts architectural style, and double fronted. This style of building is not typical in Farndon, but it complements the strong and varied architectural character of 17th, 18th and 19th century buildings which add to the rich architectural quality and appearance of the conservation area. The building and site have evidential, historic, aesthetic and community significance as a public house, which is recorded as far back as the 1840 tithe map. (1)
