Observation of Emergency Electrical Repairs outside former Library, Chester 29 January 2018
I observed the trenches for these works. Not much to report as the works all appeared to be within previously disturbed ground for existing services. Maximum depth of c 0.5m. Only point to note was that foundations of library frontage were exposed. These presumably relate to the construction of the façade at the time when the motor works were erected. Foundations largely brick but some evidence for large sandstone block foundations. No evidence for early deposits.
Photographs of the trench taken.
