Description
An archaeological desk-based assessment and field visit were undertaken in 2020 for land at Holly Tree House, Chelford. The primary archaeological interest of this site is that of the medieval and post-medieval periods. There are five known medieval sites recorded on the CHER within 1.0km of the site and this assessment identified possible medieval strip fields located circa 20m to the south of the site and south of Pepper Street. A former trackway to Holly Tree House, a pond and former field boundaries, could have origins in the medieval period. (1)
