Description

A well-preserved example of a small Regency country house designed by Thomas Harrison with a park laid out by John Webb. The park with serpentine lake is remarkably intact. There is an extensive range of stables and outbuildings, some from an earlier farmstead. The gardens include a large walled kitchen garden and significant 19th and 20th century plantings Principal features remaining House ( Tilstone Lodge) Grade II Stables Icehouse, Grade II Two entrance lodges Park with boudary tree belts, parkland trees, a large serpentine lake and a HaHa between the park and garden A walled kitchen garden Rockery Dell Terraced Lawns Formal garden Summerhouse Significant trees and 20th century plant beds
