Description
A Level II building record was produced in 2019 for Nos. 15, 17 and 19 Newgate Street prior to proposed development comprising the extension and conversion of former offices to create residential apartments, also the demolition of existing extensions. Nos. 15 and 17, also No. 19, are both Grade II listed. The survey has demonstrated that some orignial internal features of what were quality eighteenth century town houses still survive, however, the majority of the original layouts and the character of the interior spaces have been largelt lost by later alteration, particularly those done in the early part of the twentieth century when Nos. 15 and 17 were converted to a single property.
