Description
Following on from geophysical survey (ECH6671) and trial trenching (ECH6672), an environmental statement was produced in December 2018 for heritage assets within the area affected by the North West Crewe Package. A total of 44 heritage assets have been identified for assessment, including 19 archaeological sites, one Grade II listed building, 12 undesignated buistoric buildings/structures, seven historic landscape types, and five hedgerows. Recommendations for suitable mitigation include targeted archaeological excavation of sections of historic township boundaries between Leighton and Woolstanwood and Leighton and Monks Coppenhall. Also, photographic survey of five non-designated buildings (Holly Tree Cottage, Leighton Hall Farm, Mile House Farm, Leighton Lodge Farm, Cottages on Flowers Lane). (1)
