Description
An archaeology and heritage assessment was prepared in 2018 in support of a planning application for a mixed use development on a field located to the north-west of Knutsford. The site totals circa 10.7 hectares, consisting of a single pasture field, centred on SJ 7410 7970. No designated heritage assets lie within the site, but a row of three Grade II listed cottages and also Knutsford Cemetery Chapel lie to the south-west. The development site is also close to the Registered Parks and Gardens of Tatton Park, to the east, and Tabley House, to the west. However, the assessment has found no links between the development site and either of these heritage assets. The low-lying land of the site appears to have been largely agricultural in nature. (1)
