Wardell Armstrong (Stoke-on-Trent)
Date
June 2016
Description
Desk based assessment and walkover survey of area of a proposed quarry extension. Report concludes that no designated heritage assets would be physically impacted upon by the proposals, and there would be no significant impact to the setting of the listed buildings identified within the 1.25km search radius. There would be slight adverse impacts to the setting of three non-designated farmsteads: Fields Farm, Gorsey Moor Farm and Jack Fields Farm through the removal of the agricultural landscape which forms an important part of their significance. The impact to potential archaeological remains is not anticipated to exceed that of moderate adverse significance. There is no evidence to indicate the presence of remains of greater than low to medium importance which would preclude extraction.
