This heritage desk-based assessment considers land east of Manor Lane, Holmes Chapel, Cheshire. In accordance with government policy (National Planning Policy Framework), this assessment draws together the available archaeological, historic, topographic and land-use information in order to clarify the heritage significance and archaeological potential of the site. The assessment has established that the study site has a low/nil archaeological potential for settlement or other significant archaeological evidence from all periods, although it is speculated that prehistoric artefacts might be present in the ploughsoil.
