Description

Combined Archaeological Strip, Map and Record and Watching Brief at Tower Wharf during levelling of the area prior to construction of student accomodation. Excavations were monitored across the site and identified a stone built platform, thought to date to the 19th century and interpreted as a base for a wharf crane. The base lies outside the footprint of the development area and will be preserved in situ. No other archaeological remains were uncovered.
