Description
Watching brief on the site of a 19th century glue factory encountered a demolition deposit across all the stripped areas which represents large-scale and thorough demolition of the factory prior to the construction of a building on site, for which the foundations were identified during this watching brief and which do not match those on 19th century OS mapping. As only 0.2m of this deposit was removed during this watching brief it is possible that the foundations of the glue factory do surivive buried deeper in the demoltion deposit.
