Description
Tree-ring analysis of samples of oak timbers recovered from coffer dams along the alignment of the new Mersey gateway bridge between Widens and Runcorn. The submitted material comprised 7 samples in total, 3 of which were suitable for analysis and none of which were successfully dated. These timbers found at depths of -6m to -4m OD in the Mersey Estuary and area thought to date from some point aster 500 BP. The timbers were recovered by RSK under project code 231315 from 4 locations.
