Description
Repairs to the eroded bedrock at the base of Barnaby’s Tower reused sandstone recovered from the below-ground foundations associated with Roman structures and a Roman roadside drain discovered during the late 2014 excavations at the Chester theatre (Odeon cinema) site. The stone was used to create form a capping layer which should shed water more efficiently and protect the bedrock from further erosion.
