Description

Watching brief recorded a series of red brick post medieval wall foundations, drains, cobbled surfaces, flagstone surfaces , an alleyway, a cellar and outbuildings realting to the formers houses ans workshops that front onto Church street and farrell Street. These strucrtures and buildigns correlate with 18th and 19th centruy mapping of Warrington. Watching brief also identifies and investigate six pits which produced late medieval (15th century) pottery. The largest pit produced 26 sherds of medieval pottery and a well preserved iron cleaver.
