Site Event/Activity record ECH6176 - Archaeological Assessment review, Hunter Street, Chester.
Please read our guidance about the use of Cheshire Historic Environment Record data.
Technique(s)
Organisation
Wardell Armstrong (Stoke-on-Trent)
Date
August 2015
Description
Desk based assessment concludes that there is a medium to high potential for buried archaeological features and deposits to be present across the site and that archaeological
investigation should be undertaken via an approved Written Scheme of Investigation. Whilst the application site is within an area of archaeological importance it is likely
that historic development will have truncated, removed or disturbed deposits relating in all likelihood to Roman activity within the immediate area. However, that is something only direct archaeological intervention will be able to establish.
