An archaeological evaluation was carried out during December 2015 on land off Sherbourne Avenue, Chester. The main aim of the work was to identify any features that may be associated with Roman field systems. The site has surviving Medieval ridge and furrow cultivation. Four trenches were excavated, but no archaeological features were observed apart from the ridge and furrow. The deposits consisted of clay subsoil overlain by a humic topsoil.
