Site Event/Activity record ECH6058 - Field visit to Horton-by-Malpas

Site visit by CHER to photograph and record potential sites in Horton-By-Malpas. Sites visited were an old quarry site where an amateur archaeologist and metal detectorist has been excavating trenches in the Quarry backfill and a ditched feature in the centre of a field. Photographs of both sites taken. Form and function of the ditched feature not determined. Ridge and furrow observed in the field which also contains a scheduled round barrow, previously identified by the person reporting the possible sites who has extensive local knowledge of the land owned by his family.
