Description
This desk-based assessment considers land approximately 6.92 hectares in extent on land off Main Road, Goostrey, Cheshire.
The assessment considers that development of the site would not have any impact on Scheduled Monuments, Conservation Areas, Registered Parks and Gardens or Registered Battlefields.
There are three Grade II Listed Buildings located within 1 km of the site. These buildings are considered in a separate report (Land off Main Road, Goostrey, Built Heritage Assessment, 2014).
The assessment also concludes that the site has low/nil potential for archaeological evidence from all periods.
Therefore, in view of the modicum of archaeological evidence from the site and its surroundings, it is considered that no further archaeological work is warranted in this instance.
