Description
Watching brief maintained during western and South-eastern extensions to existing Arclid Quarry.
The wathich brief for the western extenaion to South Arclid revealed no archaeological features or finds. On the south-western boundary a discrete area of unusual geology was revealed, with bands of peat and lignite in small depressions.
The watching brief for the south-eastern extension to South Arclid was adjacent to the area where evidence for probable prehistoric activity consisting of the site of a burnt mound and an associated water storage pit had previously been found. However no further archaeological featres were encountered.
