Description

Archaeological monitoring and ground investigation (GI) works comprising a number of hand dug pits ahead of the Northwich Town Centre Flood Relief Management Scheme (FRMS) works. A total of 12 hand dug trial holes were monitored archaeologically to a maximum depth of 1.35m below ground level. Archaeological features were observed within the two trial holes that indicate that industrial-period structures survive at depths of 0.2 to 0.5 m below ground level.
