Description
Assessment of Cultural Heritage impact of new road scheme. Considers earlier deskbased assessment of 2010 and additional HER search for any new sites since then. Geophysical suervey also being carried out but not complete at the date of this assessment.
Mitigation options for identified sites affected by the scheme detailed. Staged programme of archaeological works to be implemented in consultation with the DC archaeologist for Cheshire East. Road construction will affect ridge and furrow earthworks, Crotial Mill tailrace, Waterlogged timbers in Basford Brok and historic township boundaries of Crewe, Weston and Basford.
