Description
Additional archaeological work took place in March 2014 at Hulme hall associated with ground reduction in room G5. Also a watching brief held during the installation of new drains located within the moat platform east of the hall. Features and deposits associated with earlier periods of the halls develpment were uncovered. The medieval Hall was probably constructed during the early 14th or 15th century, remodelled during the 17th century and partly demolished during the ealry 18th century ahead of a further major episode of remodelling. Piecemeal alterations and additions to the Hall continued into the 19th and 20th centuries.
