Description
Report relating to development proposals affecting gate setting of Hockenhull Hall, a Grade II* county house close to the village of Tarvin. Assessment finds that proposals will not harm the intrinsic architectural and historic interest of the hall and its group value. Removal of derelict and detractive 20th century buildings will enhance the setting. The revised designs of the proposed lodge and stables do not seek to challenge the predominance of the hall upon the site, and preserve the architectural hierarchy that exists between the mansion and its outbuildings.
