Description

An initial brief of archaeological monitoring during demolition of Commerce House basements led to the discovery of preserved archaeological remains warranting further investigation under evaluation conditions. Four areas were ultimately excavated recording the remains of Roman walls and surfaces across the site. Evaluation indicated two zones of archaeological potential, that to the west in the car park having the higher potential while in the area of Commerce House there still remained some potential for intermittant archaeological potential.
