Description

Evaluation carried out at 51-57 Upper Northgate Street in August 2013 in advance of redevelopment identified intact Roman features at a depth of 0.6m to 0.8m below ground level in the eastern and northern areas of the site below medieval cultivation soils. The Roman features appear to indicate a possible property boundary and a second military type ditch.
