Desk based assessment on land at Northgate Avenue currently in use as a car park in advance of planned redevelopment. The assessment examined documentary sources, manuscript maps, place and field name evidence and geological and land use surveys to determine the potential for archaeological evidence. The report concluded that there is the highest potential for post medieval to modern evidence relating to the Northgate Station of the mid 19th century as well as a fair potential for Roman remains.
