Description
During August 2006 a watching brief was undertaken in the northern part of the former Saighton camp. The site consisted of the former married quarters to the south-west, and officers housed to the north-east and the former playing fields in between. The excavation and removal of concreate foundations was monitored and the watching brief demonstrated the existence of several areas of possible medieval cultivation within the former married quarters.
