Description

A metal detecting survey carried out by local volunteers working under the supervision of Wessex archaeology, in association with CgMs Ltd, as part of a programme of pre-determination evaluation of land proposed for residential development. Work recovered over 600 non-ferrous objects and, whilst most of these probably represent casual loss, there was a notable concerntration of lead spindle whorls on the site.
