Description
Archaeological watching brief carried out at Goldsmith House following plans to introduce a new vestibule on the north side of the building while an evaluation test pit was excavated in the north west corner of the vestibule area.
The watching brief recorded only minimal impact across the area with a depth of excavation reaching 0.6m below current ground level.
The evaluation pit recorded the foundation of a Roman wall and at least two phases of rebuilding.
