Description

A watching brief carried out by Chester Archaeology in the south aisle of St Mary's on the Hill (following on from a similar evaluation of the north aisle, ECH4284), in August 1997. Architectural features (posts) belonging to an earlier phase of the church were found, in addition to highly mixed sediment containing disarticulated human remains and finds (1).
