Description
Record of the world's first aerial vertical image and flight trace by Thomas Baldwin in September 1785. Baldwin took off in a hot air balloon (a method of transport only discovered in 1783) from Chester Castle and travelled as far as Rixton Moss, Warrington. Baldwin drew two maps from the air as well as wrote an account of the voyage
