Date

Description
Geophysical survey carried out at Kelsborrow castle Iron Age hillfort over a period of four days in March and April and again in November 2009. It provided a training opportunity for University of Chester archaeology students. The gradiometry results were hindered by a strong large linear magnetic anomaly, probably a cable or pipe. However, some evidence of the upstanding earthwork bank and ditch were visible in the results as well as potential interior features. Of the interior features, there are proposed roundhouse structures or enclosures. There are also a series of indeterminate features
