Description

Discovery of a pig of lead from Commonhall Street imperfect inscription (1) (2) Site also revealed the concrete foundations of a building with probable column bases (3). CR Smith notes a row of foundations formed of concrete about 2.7m apart in a line presented the appearance of column bases. A portion of a single column base was noted. Mouldings, broken tiles and pottery, several Roman coins, a stag's skull and a wild boar tusk were also recovered. (4)
