Description

Excavations to the rear of an important thirteenth century parallel hall Row buildng, only a small area of the site had survived earlier cellaring. Two phases of timber framed structures on stone footings were located, probably outbuildings associated with the hall on the street frontage. A drain was associated with the second phase, some robbing of the Roman walling beneath had also occurred (1).
