Description

Watching brief carried out on the underpinning and restoration of a shop building. At the front this revealed only eighteenth to nineteenth century footings and cellar structures however under the back wall there was a large pit or ditch feature which contained well preserved organically rich deposits of a medieval or early post medieval date (1).
