Description
In late 1974, an opportunity to examine the nature of the stratigraphy in the vicinity of the Blue Coat (or Bluecoat) Hospital became available during the excavation of a number of trenches for power mains. Bedrock was reported at 0.3m below the surface, no information on any archaeology present is available (1).
